Wartasyariah.com,Jakarta – Bank Indonesia dan The People’s Bank of China memperbarui perjanjian swap bilateral dalam mata uang lokal (Bilateral Currency Swap Arrangement – BCSA).
Kebijakan ini berlaku efektif sejak 21 Januari 2022. Perjanjian BCSA itu memungkinkan dilakukannya pertukaran dalam mata uang lokal.
Sehingga tiap-tiap negara dapat tukar menukar uang lokal hingga senilai CNY250 miliar atau Rp550 triliun (ekuivalen sekitar 38,8 miliar dolar AS).
Perjanjian kerja sama ini dimaksudkan untuk semakin mendorong perdagangan bilateral dan investasi langsung dalam mata uang lokal masing-masing negara.
Sekaligus dalam upaya meningkatkan pembangunan ekonomi di kedua negara serta menunjukkan komitmen kedua bank sentral untuk menjaga stabilitas pasar keuangan.
Selain dengan Tiongkok, dilansir Wartasyariah.com dari laman bi.go.id, Bank Indonesia juga melakukan kerja sama keuangan dengan bank sentral lain di beberapa negara di kawasan Asia.
Kerja sama bank sentral di tiap-tiap negara agar dapat tukar menukar uang lokal, telah dilakukan Bank Indonesia bersama bank sentral dari negara Korea Selatan, Australia, Malaysia, dan Singapura.
Perjanjian kerja sama BCSA Bank Indonesia dan The People’s Bank of China pertama kali ditandatangani pada Maret 2009.
Seperti diketahui, kerja sama tersebut telah beberapa kali mengalami amendemen dan perpanjangan masa berlaku.
Hal ini merefleksikan kuatnya kerja sama bidang keuangan antara Bank Indonesia dan The People’s Bank of China dan diharapkan semakin meningkatkan kepercayaan pasar, terhadap fundamental ekonomi kedua negara.
Untuk diketahui Bilateral Currency Swap Agreement (BCSA) merupakan bentuk kerjasama keuangan bilateral yang lazim dilakukan oleh bank sentral.
